FOND DU LAC, WI (Saber Voice) – Have you had enough of the horrors of 2020 and want those of Halloween instead? The season offers up many films to enjoy – from “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” to “The Exorcist.” For people looking to get into the Halloween spirit, here is a selection of the top five movies to watch.  

1. “Hocus Pocus”: This classic is a good movie to get you into the Halloween spirit. The film is about a boy whose family moves to a new state where he must start all over but struggles to make new friends. During the process he encounters a trio of witches and his struggles spiral from there. Why is this a great movie for the Halloween season? With spooky witches, who wouldn’t like it? 
2. “The Nightmare Before Christmas”: Who said Halloween and Christmas didn’t mix? Not anyone who enjoys “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” This movie is about a skeleton, who, in the past was all about Halloween. However, after doing some searching, he finds out about the miracles of Christmas, and decides to add a touch to his Halloween type of town. People will enjoy the movie because it will make you appreciate the Halloween holiday while also sprinkling some holiday cheer.  
3. “Casper,”: This movie takes the number three spot because of its appeal to both kids and adults alike. A daughter meets a friendly ghost named Casper when moving into a house that also houses evil spirits. From the afterlife, Casper tries his best to save the family and get rid of the other evil spirits. The film is a hit for this time of year, because of its humor and spooky theme.  
4. “Monster House ”: All will enjoy this spooky, funny, and mysterious film, which gives watchers a Halloween vibe. The movie is about two boys and one girl who discover crazy things about their neighbor and his house. What could be so crazy? It’s a breathing house! And if that’s not enough, it has emotions... If viewers don’t enjoy the movie, it will at least get them wanting to get out and trick or treat. 
5. “Hellraiser:” Rounding out our top five is a ghoulish film about a woman in the underworld surrounded by demons and must find a way out of it. The movie is a perfect choice for horror and Halloween lovers, as it mixes, the scary, with vanquishing monsters and demons.
