“Genshin Impact:” The game that has millions playing

However, about a month ago, a new game left an impact on many gamers: “Genshin Impact” — released on September 28, 2020. Now that more than a month has passed, how is the game doing?

On the day of release, “Genshin Impact” had more than 17 million downloads between mobile, PlayStation, and PC players. The immediate reaction to this game was comparing it to “Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” This game was awarded Game of the Year in 2017 and has currently sold nearly 20 million copies, according to TheGameAwards.Com. This demonstrates that “Genshin Impact” is on par with the 2017 game of the year.

The beauty of “Genshin Impact” is that it is free-to-play and it allows for friends to connect and play together. It is an online action role-playing game that attracts players with the beautiful animations and artistic styles. The art style of this game resembles Japanese anime.

“Genshin Impact” currently has 12 million active players. The game is still doing great. Although it is currently on the PlayStation 4, the creators of “Genshin Impact” have stated they will make the game available on the PlayStation 5 and will be backwards compatible. The game has made nearly $300 million since its release, according to TheGameAwards.Com, and this number seems like it will only increase with the newest update adding two new characters.
